The Pack Den

Reika, a colorful timber wolf/ Siberian Husky mix walked into the clearing. It was a nice forested area with a large cave in the middle, perfect for the pack to sleep in. She smiled as the sun shone brightly onto the ground, giving the plants around her life. She walked cautiously towards the cave and sniffed it, smelling a very stale fox scent. She smiled. "Nobody has been here for months." She said, licking her chops and walking in, only to pull out a dead fox carcas. "Never mind." She said dropping it behind a tree and mumbling a blessing under her breath. She walked back into the cave, brushing out all the leaves with her tail and bringing the moss slowly out.

Pheonix was buisy talking to commet as they walked to the den.

Reika sat down on top of the rocky parts of the den and began to lick her paws.

Eclipse eventually caught up with the rest of the pack, sniffing the ground inquisitively. His dark grey fur shined in the sun as he walked along slowly.
"Not too bad this place, not bad at all."
He walked around the den trying to make himself useful.

Reika jumped down onto and ground and stretched. "Im going hunting. Anyone want to help me?" She asked. She looked around for a good place to start sniffing around.

"If you need the help I'll come," said Eclipse as he aimlessly wandered around the den. He looked up at Reika from sniffing the ground and waited for her command.

"I willl" commet said. "of course you would your a hunter after all" Pheonix said. "I guess I will stay and gaurd the den well your gone." she said and went into the den.

Reika nodded. "Thanks. Hunt for whatever you like. Just be careful and sniff it well before you bring it back, I lost my parents that way." She said following the scent of some rabbits.

"sure will miss" Commet said befor folowing the sent of deer.

Eclipse nodded and ran off to find some prey. After wandering aimlessly for a while he really needed to something more stimulating. He decided to follow Comet as he seemed to know what he was doing.

Reika ran into a rabbit burrow and killed tow adults and sniffed them, making sure they hadnt been with any humans recently. She picked them up and took them back to the den, catching three birds on her way.

The fist deer that commet caut had the sent of human on it so he coverd it with moss and left to find another making sure that Eclipse was close by. "don't get lost my friend" he said to reasure eclipse would fallow and then he killed another deer and this time it was safe so he draged it back to the den.

Reika went back out and sniffed around for deer. She caught up to a small doe and her fawn. Reika licked her chops and smiled. 'Get the mother first. Bigger is best for the pack.' Reika thought. She slowly walked forward, taking the doe down easily. She smelt the doe and nodded. "Perfect." She said taking a good wiff of the fawn's scent before taking the doe back to the den.

There was no other deer around and Eclipse knew he wasn't that good at tracking so he decided to help drag the carcass back to the den.

"thank you Eclipse" commet said after they got back to the den they saw Pheonix waiting for them. "hey welcome back!" she said. "Commet are you ok to carie that deer by yourself?" she asked. "yes Pheonix I'm fine." he said and started to hull it into the back of the den. "ok my turn to hunt." Pheonix said and fallowed the sent of dear just like commet did.

"thank you Eclipse" commet said after they got back to the den they saw Pheonix waiting for them. "hey welcome back!" she said. "Commet are you ok to carie that deer by yourself?" she asked. "yes Pheonix I'm fine." he said and started to hull it into the back of the den. "ok my turn to hunt." Pheonix said and fallowed the sent of dear just like commet did.

Reika followd the scent of the fawn as she dove her nose into the ground. She found it in an eerie looking cave, but walked in anyway, not showing any signs of fear. She killed the fawn easily and smelt it carefully, making sure it had no human scent. She then dragged it back to the den easily.

With a little growl Eclipse managed to say, "I don't hunt." He decided to take over watching the den. "Comet you can go off and hunt If you like. I've got things covered back here."

"oh it's ok." he said and laid down in the cave "I have to finish putting the deer at the back of the den" he said. "man this is harder than it looks" he grownd and then just placed it on the ground insdean of putting it behind the rock.

Reika yawned and layed down at the den entrance. "I get tired too easily for my liking..." She said with a sigh, looking around.

Eclipse sat infront of the den, "Did you detect any sign of other wolves when you went out?" He directed his question at Reika.

Reika shook her head. "Somebody will have to mark our territory though so any strangers know that we arent to be messed with." She growled, hitting a mouse on the back with her paw as it passed. She watched the small creature squeak in agony as it died due to the blow.

Eclipse got up, "Then that'll be my first job in this new territory. I'll howl If I get lost" Eclipse jogged off into the undergrowth and started marking.

Reika nodded and watches as Eclipse disappeared in the undergrowth.

Pheonix came back carring a died hare. "ok i found somthing" she putts the hare down. "I sniffed it and it has no sines of humans" she said.
